Jewelry design contest ends with 10 awards

TEN college students stood out among 127 participants in a diamond jewelry design competition this afternoon.
The competition, organized by Shanghai Diamond Exchange, required all participants to create diamond jewelry designs with imagination. Students from eight local colleges submitted 201 works to the jury.
The first prize went to a diamond ring named "Potu" (germination). Its designer received a cash award of 5,000 yuan (US$ 802).
According to the organizers, some prize winners will be recruited by big-name jewelers in Shanghai and their winning designs will be turned into real diamond jewelries for exhibition.
