BE on the lookout for ATM scams during the hustle-bustle World Expo.
Crooks have placed equipment on automatic teller machines to obtain card numbers and passwords and then make a fake card to swipe-and-consume, the Shanghai Bureau of the China Banking Regulatory Commission said yesterday.
"No losses has been made so far," said the banking regulator. "But considering the huge flow of visitors during the World Expo, it's likely that such frauds will continue."
