King leads the way
THE Sweden Pavilion is a 3,000-square-meter space in Zone C of the Expo site, between the pavilions of Iceland and Denmark. Today is the Sweden Pavilion Day.
King Carl XVI Gustaf will lead a delegation of 50 people to the Expo site.
Among them will be Deputy Prime Minister Maud Olofsson.
Sami singer Sofia Jannok and indie pop band Those Dancing Days will each perform two songs at an official ceremony in the morning.
The Swedish will also celebrate with a Sino-Sweden collaboration in the evening - local dancer Jin Xing will put on a fashion show featuring Swedish designers' creations.
The Swedish pavilion, with its facade of a Stockholm street map that shines at night, was designed around the theme "Spirit of Innovation."
The pavilion aims to explore harmonious connections between cities.
