Latest vehicles to be unveiled at CIIE
Automobile exhibitors will display a number of latest vehicles and technologies during the second China International Import Expo, to be held in Shanghai in November.
The key focus of the automobile exhibition area at the expo will be new-energy vehicles, including electric and hydrogen cars, premium cars as well as intelligent and connected vehicles. Many premiere automobile products from Asia will be released during the expo.
A total of 69 auto companies from 16 countries and regions, including General Motors, Tesla, Volkswagen, BMW, Toyota, Hyundai, Kia and IVECO, will participate in the CIIE this year. Around 30 are Fortune Global 500 companies.
Parts makers such as Bosch, Aisin Seiki, Denso and Webasto will also unveil their latest offerings.
US automaker GM will have a lineup of models that showcase utility, versatility and luxury. At GM’s stand, visitors will be able to experience the excitement of exploration, expanding boundaries and reaching beyond through GM’s signature performance car, full-size sport-utility vehicles and pickup trucks.
“GM looks forward to helping Chinese consumers discover and fulfill their true aspirations in life that come with personal mobility,” said Matt Tsien, GM executive vice president and president of GM China. “Our advanced technology and expert craftsmanship on display at CIIE will introduce the independence, joy and possibilities of owning a GM car or truck.”
GM will showcase its 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, its first mid-engine model for the iconic sports car nameplate and also its fastest entry ever.
Supporting its strong power delivery is an engine mount that uses an innovative lightweight material developed at the GM China Advanced Technical Center in Shanghai.
The US carmaker will also display SUV models like the Chevrolet Suburban and GMC Yukon XL Denali as well as pickup trucks, including the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra Denali.
South Korean auto firms like Hyundai and Kia will bring their latest NEVs to the second CIIE.
Hyundai will unveil its electric concept vehicle named 45. The company will also showcase its self-developed fuel cell system which can be applied to passenger cars and trucks.
Kia will display its electric concept vehicle named FUTRON. The company will also display its Real-time Emotion Adaptive Driving technology. With application of the technology, vehicles can adjust their interior environment with multiple sensors recording facial expression, heart rate and skin movement, which create a joyful driving experience.
Italian commercial vehicle manufacturer IVECO said it will bring an Asia-premiere commercial vehicle and an off-road automobile during the event.
The automobile exhibition area for the second CIIE will consist of car manufacturers, parts makers, maintenance products and lubricants, automotive accessory products as well as vintage cars.
