Leukemia patient found week after she left home
A young Shanghai woman who left home and her seven-month-old baby behind last Thursday after she was told suffering leukemia has been found, her employer announced on Weibo.com yesterday.
Cao Lu, a 23-year-old employee of Ping An Insurance Company, is in stable condition. "We will take care of her and we appreciate the support of all the warm-hearted netizens," it said.
The young mother left home last Thursday leaving a note to her family that she was diagnosed of leukemia. "I don't have the courage to tell you everything," she wrote. "I chose to die alone."
Cao grew up in a poor family in Anhui Province. She left without taking any money and her identity card. She asked her family to take good care of the baby.
When someone posted her sad story online, it soon gripped the heart of thousands of netizens who contacted her family for her descriptions and joined the search.
