Life sentence for young killer

A 19-YEAR-OLD man was sentenced to life imprisonment yesterday for kidnapping and then killing a 4-year-old boy in 2008.
The Shanghai No. 1 Intermediate People's Court said the man, identified only as Zhang, wasn't sentenced to death because he was a minor at the time of the crime. The court also ordered Zhang, a Henan Province native, and his parents to pay 550,000 yuan (US$80,486) compensation to the victim's parents.
