CHANGNING District police helped a relics dealer from Beijing yesterday find an item worth more than 1 million yuan (US$146,500)lost in a taxi. The dealer took a cab to the World Expo site in the morning but the driver soon drove off, leaving the antique inside the back trunk of the cab.
Without a customer invoice, police had to study a surveillance camera to identify the taxi. They found it about 90 minutes later, police said, the relic safe and sound.
