Man attempted to 'sneak' gasoline on to Metro
A MAN who tried to take a container of gasoline on to the Metro has been detained for placing public safety in danger, police said yesterday.
The man, who was not named, entered Metro Line 3's Yishan Road Station at about 5pm on Monday, officers said. He avoided a security checkpoint but was apprehended at the barrier. Police discovered he was carrying 4 liters of gas in the container. The man told officers the fuel was for his moped and he had tried to "sneak through" as he knew he should not be carrying it on the Metro. He has been detained for five days and the gas confiscated.
