Man backs car over woman, kills her

A woman was killed by a car when the driver backed over her yesterday afternoon in Minhang District.
Witnesses said the driver had no idea that he had hit someone and that he didn't brake until the security guard shouted: "You've hit someone!"
The driver, a man in his 50s who lived in the neighborhood, said he found his son hadn't parked the car in a proper position, so he went down to re-park it. The woman, surnamed Liu, about 60, was walking her dog when the accident happened.
According to the security guard, when the car stopped moving, it had already run down the woman and its wheels rolled over her head. The women died immediately.
Police are investigating.
On Thursday night, a man was killed in a four-vehicle collision on Tongchuan Road near Zhenguang Road, authorities reported.
