Man detained after 'sex pest' knife attack

A MAN has been detained after three people were injured when police confronted an alleged sex pest at Shanghai South Railway Station.

Officers had been called after reports that a man had lifted up a woman's dress while she lining up for the train ticket yesterday morning, according to the Shanghai Morning Post.

It is alleged that the 26-year-old suspect, surnamed Zhang, lashed out when officers tried to take him for questioning.

It is claimed that Zhang produced a knife and injured policeman Bai Quanxuan and two passengers as he tried to escape.

Bai called for help and police apprehended Zhang at the entrance of a waiting room.

The wounded policeman and passengers were sent to the hospital.

Investigations are continuing.
