Man dies in Changning District brawl
ONE man died and two others were injured in what was reported as a gang fight involving more than 10 people in downtown Changning District late Saturday night.
Early yesterday morning, police detained four people who fled after the fight. The fight was thought to have been caused by disputes over debts, police said.
The incident occurred at 11:45pm on Saturday night at No. 717 Huangjincheng Road when two groups of people gathered at the entrance to a complex and started fighting.
A man in his 40s died after he was stabbed during the fight and another two men were sent to a nearby hospital. A man surnamed Ma, a Jiangsu Province native, suffered slight injuries while another man surnamed Lu, an Anhui Province native, had to have over 60 stitches in his head.
Residents living at the complex said they heard noises late at night as the two groups were quarreling. Several minutes later, the two groups started fighting, residents said.
