Man dies under pile of clothes
A man died from suffocation after getting stuck among piles of clothes yesterday in downtown Hongkou District.
The man, the owner of a clothes stall on Qipu Road, went back home alone to fetch some clothes at around 11am. The residence is a few minutes from his stall in a market. As the man did not come back after 40 minutes and did not answer his mobile phone, his wife went back to check, and found the man had become stuck upside down in a gap among the clothes. The man, 35, from Zhejiang Province, was pronounced dead after emergency staff arrived. Police ruled out the possibility of murder.
