Man held over raid

SHANGHAI police have detained a man accused of holding up a jewelry store with a knife in Pudong on Thursday. The suspect surnamed Liu, 24, is said to have taken two platinum rings after breaking the glass display case in the store in Huinan Town in Pudong. Security guards did not tackle the raider because he had a knife. Police found Liu on Friday in a hotel in Pudong. Officers said Liu, a migrant worker, has confessed.
