Man kills roommate, dumps body in manhole

A MAN was stabbed to death by his roommate and dumped into a manhole early yesterday in a village in the Pudong New Area after the two quarreled while drinking, police said.
The suspect, surnamed Li, was detained by police at scene.
The incident happened about 4am at Yiyuan Village in the Kangqiao area.
Li, 26, from the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, was drinking on Wednesday night with his roommate, surnamed Zhang, 23, from Jilin Province.
The two started to quarrel over some trivial matters and Li picked up a kitchen knife and stabbed Zhang in the neck, police said.
Zhang quickly died of his injury and Li dumped his body in a manhole 50 meters away, which police said was seen by other villagers.
"I saw him throwing the man into the manhole," a villager said. "The murderer just came here a month ago."
