Man raids ATM then tries to hand back cash
A MAN was not charged for withdrawing 6,000 yuan (US$880) from a bank card left in an ATM machine because he handed himself in to police.
The card holder also forgave him, Oriental Morning Post reported today.
Zhou Linsheng found the card in an ATM machine at an Agriculture Bank branch in Jiading District in the afternoon of April 8.
He successfully withdrew 1,000 yuan so he withdrew another 5,000 yuan, the report said.
But he didn't dare withdraw more although he found there was 20,000 yuan left in the account, according to the report.
Zhou had a change of heart and tried to deposit the money back into the account that night, but found the account had already been suspended.
He then handed himself to police. Police said Zhou could have been charged with credit card fraud.
