Man says murder was act of revenge
A SUSPECT was detained in Shandong Province after he allegedly murdered a man in an apparent act of revenge in the city, police announced yesterday.
The suspect, Liang Longchao, 21, confessed to the crime and said he had come to Shanghai from his hometown in Shandong to kill the victim, surnamed Zhang, police said.
Although the suspect said that he had killed Zhang in an act of revenge, the exact motive for the crime has not yet been revealed, according to police.
Zhang's body was found by tourists on a terrace in the Pudong New Area, near Lujiazui Road, on Tuesday night, a witness said.
After the body was -identified as Zhang, the police investigated his background at which point suspicion fell on Liang.
With the help of Shandong police, officers caught Liang on Wednesday night in Shandong's Zaozhuang City.
