Man turns himself in after neighbor finds dead woman in his flat

A 54-YEAR-OLD man, who had been jailed for hurting his girl friends, turned himself in to Huangpu District police yesterday for killing his new lover.

Lin Fu went to the public security bureau after his neighbor living upstairs called the police saying she found a woman lying in Lin's rented home on Kuaiji Road at 3am.

The neighbor surnamed Wang said the woman aged about 50 moved into Lin's home a month ago and rarely talked with others, today's Oriental Morning Post reported.

Wang said she didn't hear any quarrel or fight in Lin's apartment before the murder. However, she said Lin had served a sentence in jail years ago for hurting his girlfriends.

"One of his girlfriend went blind. Another was missing," said Wang.

There was no information about the woman on the neighbourhood's resident registry, which she lived with Lin without following the required procedure.
