Maritime court releases bilingual white paper

Shanghai Maritime Court had accepted more than 2,700 cases last year, an increase of 6.2 percent than the year 2013, the court said.

The court released an annual white paper to summarize its maritime judicature for the year 2014.

It is written in both Chinese and English.

According to the white paper, the court accepted a total of 2,723 cases last year with an aggregate value of 3.748 billion yuan (US$592 million).

Nearly half of the cases were related to seaborne shipping services.

Last year 13 vessels were auctioned successfully, including two vessels auctioned online.
