Massage attack puts woman in hospital

POLICE are hunting suspects who beat up a masseuse after a request for sex was rejected.

Su Aiyin was rushed to Putuo District Hospital on Sunday where she underwent emergency treatment.

"She suffered a ruptured liver and is still in critical condition," said Dr Frank Shi.

Police have detained two people but are still pursuing the main suspects.

"We have identified the suspects and put their information on the online pursuing system," an officer said yesterday.

The incident happened in a massage parlor on Jiangqiao Road near Cao'an Road in Jiading District about 3pm on Sunday. A group of people entered the store and asked for foot massage. One of them asked Su's sister, who also worked there, for a sexual service. When his request was rejected he became angry and slapped her on the face.

"When I escaped to the counter, Aiyin came up and tried to stop these guys," Su's sister said.

Aiyin was pushed to the ground and beaten.

The police said the group had been drinking before going to the massage parlor.
