METRO police say security checks will gradually cover all 200-plus subway stations from today. Passengers will be asked to put their bags and luggage through X-ray machines and officers and security staff will conduct spot checks.
Police have confiscated more than 30,000 pieces of dangerous goods since 43 stations became the first to have scanners earlier this year.
