Migrant saved by air cushion in suicide jump

A man from Chongqing in southwestern China jumped from the Elevated Middle Ring Road in Hongkou District and landed safely on an air cushion below around 11:40am today, Shanghai police said.
The man surnamed He was found sitting on the edge of a ramp leading to Quyang Road around 11:10am. He said he wanted to commit suicide because of a dispute with others.
Police arrived immediately and began to calm him down. Meanwhile, an air cushion was pumped up to catch him.
Half an hour later, the man jumped off suddenly and fell on the cushion. He was not hurt and was taken to a police station for investigation.
