Minister is impressed
ALGERIA'S housing and urban development minister visited the Expo yesterday and expressed a wish to enhance cooperation with China.
Moussa Nouredine said he was impressed by the China Pavilion's grandeur and Chinese people's hospitality as well as the Expo's showcase of urban planning concepts.
Nouredine will outline the efforts made by Algeria to promote quality of life in the housing sector when he addresses a forum tomorrow.
"Since Algeria launched the urban development programs in 1999, China has played an important role in providing good technical and funding support," he said.
"Chinese construction staff are also well received by our residents for their diligence and creativity. We hope that more Chinese corporations will be involved in a wide array of partnerships with us."
Algeria plans to invest more than US$2 trillion in housing and urban infrastructure over the next five years.
