Mom detained after newborn found dead

SHANGHAI police today detained a mother whose newborn daughter was found dead late last month in Songjiang District.
The suspect, surnamed Zhou, deserted the baby on a window ledge along a corridor inside a commercial and residential building, police said.

The baby was found on June 25 by nearby residents.
