A MOTHER who beat her daughter to death by mistake was jailed for two years with probation of three years at Minhang District People's Court yesterday. The woman surnamed Zhang, a Sichuan Province native, beat her daughter with a branch on March 8 for being naughty. But she also hit her daughter's head against a door and the five-year-old died in hospital of a brain injury.
