More stars shine their light on city Expo
ANOTHER four celebrities were appointed ambassadors to the 2010 Shanghai World Expo yesterday, the 50-day countdown to the event's opening in May.
Hong Kong pop and film star Andy Lau, talk show hostess Yang Lan, gymnast and entrepreneur Li Ning and composer Tan Dun will join movie star Jackie Chan, NBA star Yao Ming and pianist Lang Lang in promoting the event.
Lau was appointed Goodwill Ambassador, and said he looked forward to encouraging all Chinese people to promote the Expo.
Yang was appointed Image Ambassador.
She said she will use her media experience to promote the event.
Li became Expo Health Ambassador. Li, who has a sportswear company, said he would hold various activities to promote the Expo.
Tan is the Culture Ambassador and will be working with American composer Quincy Jones on songs for the Expo.
