Neighbors of engulfed building move back home
ALL residents living in the two buildings next to the 28-floor high-rise that was engulfed in fire on November 15 have moved back to their homes, authorities said.
The 416 households in the buildings in downtown Jing'an District were evacuated after the inferno and had lived in temporary settlements for more than a month.
The affected residents were arranged to nearby hotels and began moving back since December 20.
Officials with district government said that the buildings are still subject to renovation construction work.
City construction authorities gave green light about safety of the buildings in December. But the heat insulation materials, which are blamed for the quick spread of the fire, wrapped up both the damaged and two adjacent buildings should be removed, officials ordered.
Altogether 58 people were killed in the deadly blaze.
