Netizens mourn teacher's death

NETIZENS mourned the death of Jiang Jing, a young English teacher at Fudan University, after she died of cervical cancer last week.

Jiang, 34, posted details of her illness on weibo in January, asking for help from the public to buy new medicines that could kill the fast-growing sarcoma in her body and save her life.

Jiang was diagnosed with cervical cancer in early January. "I want to survive. My parents, my husband and my son need me. I hope someone can save my life and help me get through this," Jiang said on her blog on January 12.

Jiang died at the Yangzhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine at 6:30am on Sunday. Her body was incinerated on Wednesday in her hometown.

Jiang's story reminded the public of Yu Juan, a PhD holder and another Fudan University teacher who blogged about her fight against the breast cancer before she died in 2011.

Yu wrote a blog with dark humor about her struggles with advanced breast cancer.

She died at the young age of 33.
