LOCAL construction and transport officials are considering new ways to carry away earth and other waste from construction sites which would avoid unnecessary disturbance to residents' daily lives.
The earth and waste is expected to be stored in sealed containers and carried via waterways, unlike the current method by which large trucks are used for transport.
The present situation has been responsible for fatal accidents and pollution due to lax management, officials said, adding that citywide crackdowns have so far had limited effect on the problem.
