"We will also organize art film exhibitions on campus," said Wang, who was named the best actor at the 26th Tokyo International Film Festival. "Theater screens are still replete with commercial productions. Liao and I hope that the center will help young movie enthusiasts to know more about the charm and value of art-house movies."

Liao won the prize for best actor at the 64th Berlin International Film Festival.

In the time being, Lou Wei, an official from the Shanghai Theater Academy, said that they have additionally launched a series of events to discover and bring light upon fresh, talented, potential art film-makers. The events will include micro movie competitions and international case studies.
