New driver injures 5 pedestrians, 2 critically

FIVE people were injured this afternoon when a car hit a pedestrian, lost control and hit four others in Pudong New Area, police said.
Two of the injured are in critical condition. The other three suffered only minor injuries, police said.
The 23-year-old woman driver surnamed Xu got her driving license just recently, police said. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
The accident happened around 1pm at the intersection of Chuanzhou Highway and Xiuchuan Road. Xu hit a pedestrian, overacted and bumped the other four, police said.
