Newlyweds get the VIP treatment from French

THE Frence Pavilion at the Expo has put its romantic nature on display by offering its blessings to newlyweds. And this has become a "rule" of hospitality for one of the most popular national pavilions.

Franck Serrano, director of the Frence Pavilion, said: "If a couple come in their wedding dress, then they'll become our VIP. They don't have to queue; they'll receive gifts and special certificates."

"With all the serious content at the Expo, we just want to add a little bit of joy and allow visitors to have their own personal memories of that day at the Expo," added Serrano.

Additionally, winners of a lottery at the Frence Pavilion can have a free weeklong trip to France, he said, explaining that "the Chinese people associate France with romanticism, with the art of life."

The number of visitors to the pavilion reached 5 million in early August. More than 55,000 people visit the pavilion daily.
