Night adventure at botanical garden
THE Shanghai Botanical Garden is inviting children aged 6 and 12 and their parents to explore animal and plant life at night.
When darkness falls, frogs, bats, fireflies, weasels and other nocturnal animals all come alive; some plants such as tropical water lilies begin to unfold their flowers.
Children can use flashlights to observe life after dark, accompanied by their parents. The night trip is available every Friday, Saturday and Sunday in July, lasting four hours until 9pm. No more than 500 visitors are allowed one night. Admission is 150 yuan (US$24.19), including lectures by zoologists and botanists.
Call 54352845 or 54355125 for application. More information is available at www.shbg.org.
Participants are advised to bring their own flashlights and mosquito repellents and follow the instruction of volunteers.
