No hiding place for criminals
TWELVE people have been detained in Jiading District after checks on small hotels and rental houses this month, police said yesterday. The suspects were from five gangs and had been involved in about 100 theft cases. Police said they also confiscated spoils with a total value of 200,000 yuan (US$29,420).
Officials said the campaign in the district was part of the citywide campaign to ensure that all tenants or long-term residents of rental houses or hotels register with their real identities, leaving no hiding place for criminal suspects. The campaign is still ongoing, police said.
