Nocturnal thief gets 8 months

A THIEF who hid in a supermarket toilet until the shop was closed to rob the place has been sentenced to eight months' prison, Songjiang District judges said.
Lin Xianjie, a poor migrant worker, thought of the "shortcut" to making a fortune early last year. During last year's Spring Festival and May Day holidays, when the supermarket was crowded, Lin pretended to shop in the supermarket until he hid in the toilet before closing. He emerged in the early hours of the morning to steal mobile phones worth more than 5,000 yuan (US$730). Lin was caught by police last November in an Internet cafe.
