Numbers up for private firms
A NEW regulation is to allow the use of Arabic numbers in private company names, officials said yesterday.
The State Administration for Industry and Commerce rule replaces one from the early 1990s banning Arabic numbers. Companies, however, must avoid numbers which may mislead consumers, such as the emergency numbers 110 and 119.
