Office worker held over theft

A MAN has been detained for allegedly stealing 200,000 yuan (US$29,302) cash from his company, the police said today.
The theft happened at about 8:30am in an office building on Qiujiang Road, Zhabei District, police said.
An employee surnamed Gu left his office for about 15 minutes and discovered the money was missing when he came back. It was due to be used for year-end bonuses.
Police searched video cameras and discovered 150,000 yuan stashed in a vacant room. After investigation, they arrested a man surnamed Zhang, who admitted he stole the money after recently becoming engaged.
