Chen Xiaofeng, former deputy director of Songjiang District, stood trial at Shanghai No. 1 Intermediate People’s Court yesterday on charges of malfeasance and taking bribes. According to the No. 1 Branch of the Shanghai People’s Procuratorate, Chen took bribes up to 7.51 million yuan (US$1.07 million) while acting as director and Party working committee secretary of the Zhongshan Subdistrict Office.
