Old Audi spare parts sold as new
market watchdogs said yesterday that they are investigating a 4S store in Jiading District that was revealed to be ripping off customers who ordered new Audi spares by selling them second-hand parts.
Gu Yebin, a former member of staff at Dongchang Audi 4S store, tipped off China Central Television.
“The price gap between each new and old part is about 1,000 yuan (US$161) and these old parts are of much poorer quality,” said Gu, whose duties included purchasing spares.
Some old parts did not even match the cars, he said.
The Jiading Industrial and Commercial Administrative Bureau said investigation is under way.
The store has been found to have fabricated receipts by providing false information in spare parts and cheated consumers in prices of auto parts price, the district’s tax and price supervision authorities confirmed.
