Online science festival starts today
A three-day online science festival kicks off today with activities that include experiments you can do at home.
The Shanghai Science Festival will hold a “Science Night” from 6pm to 9pm daily from today to Sunday on WeChat.
Among the activities will be online tours of museums, parks and science education venues that are closed due to the novel coronavirus epidemic.
Following a “virtual guide,” people can enjoy cherry blossom at the Chenshan Botanical Garden. Currently, the Kawazu-zakura, one of the earliest to bloom and the main cherry blossom variety in Shanghai, is in full bloom.
The China Maritime Museum will offer an “audio tour” of its exhibition of the Yangtze River Delta’s maritime culture. The exhibition displays precious items from 25 museums, especially intangible cultural heritage such as compass manufacturing skills.
