Opening of Metro Line 10 delayed

TRIAL service on Shanghai's Metro Line 10 may be delayed by two weeks to mid April.

Some stations will not open until October to coordinate with construction of Hongqiao Station along the Shanghai-Beijing High-Speed Rail line, today's Shanghai Morning Post reported, citing the Metro system operator.

Line 10 was scheduled to open on March 26, and runs 36 kilometers from New Jiangwan City area in Shanghai's northeast Yangpu District to Hongqiao Airport in the city's west, with 31 stations.

It will stop at tourist attractions such as Yuyuan Garden and major residential communities including the Wujiaochang area.
