Pakistan has weathered the storm of the international financial crisis. We have not only averted an economic crisis but our key sectors' in manufacturing and agriculture have shown immense resilience and strength.

Our economy is bouncing back. Remittances to Pakistan this year have increased. The Shanghai Expo will, thus, give us an opportunity to share the narrative of our economic recovery with the rest of the world and to demonstrate our inherent cultural strengths.

Pakistan has small and large cities. It has metropolises, cities, and townships. Every city has the challenge to create harmony within diversity and this is the theme that Pakistan Pavilion will display and demonstrate.

Pakistan's contribution to the Expo 2010 is the famous fort of Lahore city of Pakistan which dates back thousands of years and is also on the UNESCO's world heritage site.

The Pakistan Pavilion will follow its theme of "harmony in diversity" and will also highlight the centuries old strong bond between the people of Pakistan and China.

Also, the rich culture, traditions and the harmonious lifestyles of the people of Pakistan will be highlighted through rich multimedia presentations and live performances wherein special cultural troupes will be flown in from Pakistan to perform for the visitors of the Expo.
