Pavilions give perks to transport cardholders

PEOPLE can gain fast access to some popular pavilions by buying a special transport card for 40 yuan (US$5.85). The cards are available at the Expo.
The card was issued by the Expo organizer and half of the proceeds will be used to plant trees or support projects to counter carbon dioxide emissions and help Expo Shanghai become carbon neutral.
The Netherlands Pavilion yesterday began inviting people with the cards to the VIP entrance between August 22 and 28.
The Spain, Luxembourg, Norway, Brazil and USA pavilions are also planning to offer fast access to the cardholders in September.
The card was available in the "We are the Family" Pavilion. The card features a picture of Expo mascot Haibao.
The first batch of transport cards will mainly be sold to companies and institutions.
