Pimp to pay 30,000 yuan to customer he slashed

A MAN who called to order a prostitute, then refused two women offered him because he found neither attractive, got a 30,000 yuan (US$4,810) compensation from a pimp who slashed the unhappy customer in the chest with a knife, a local court announced yesterday.
The victim, identified as Wu Qiang, in his 20s, picked up an advertising card at a local budget hotel where he was staying in August. He called and asked for a prostitute for 500 yuan, according to officials. When the girl arrived, Wu was very dissatisfied.
The Xuhui District People's Court heard that Wu bargained with the 21-year-old pimp, surnamed Yang, for a second prostitute for 600 yuan.
Wu also rejected her. "I thought the girl would be a beauty like the one on the ad," Wu told the court.
The woman then called Yang and said Wu refused to pay her or give her taxi fare.
Yang, thinking Wu had had sex with the girl, slashed Wu in the right chest with a fruit knife. Wu was not seriously injured.
Yang was sentenced to eight months in prison yesterday.
