Platform for regional standards set up
Market watchdogs in the Yangtze River Delta region launched a collaboration platform for international standardization yesterday to fuel the region鈥檚 integrated development.
Twenty-one pilot programs covering areas such as 5G technology cables and new materials were released with the setting up of the platform.
The platform will integrate advantages in industry, technology and talent in the region to create a regional 鈥渟tandard highland,鈥 serving the national strategy of the integrated development of the region, authorities said.
Market regulators have released a number of coordinated regional standards covering tourism, transport and logistics such as senior care agencies鈥 facilities and services and recreational vehicle tourism service areas.
鈥淲ith the deepening development of economic globalization, standardization is playing a more important role in facilitating economic and trade exchanges, promoting the advance of science and technology and regulating social governance,鈥 said Chen Tong, vice mayor of Shanghai.
Shanghai released 119 new local standards last year.
Its one-stop government affair service portal has included 237 types of e-licenses, with more than 80 million licenses recorded, according to a white paper on standardization released yesterday.
