Police Storm Betting Den, Detain 39

MINHANG District police caught 39 people suspected of gambling more than 200,000 yuan (US$29,288) on Wednesday, officials said yesterday.
Police received reports that about 40 people gathered to gamble every night in a house on Luoxiu Road, but they had moved on by the time the police arrived.
Police were later tipped off the gamblers had moved to a tea club on Hongxin Road. Two policemen checked out the place and found dozens of gamblers.
On Wednesday at 2am more than 40 Minhang policemen stormed the tea club. The gamblers tried to escape but all 39 were caught and have been detained.
