Police bust illegal Jinshan casino
FOUR men have been detained for allegedly running an illegal gambling den in a factory in suburban Jinshan District, local police today said.
Officers also seized gambling money of more than HK$2.3 million (US$295,341) and another 100,000 yuan.
Police were tipped off in August that the suspects had set up a 'casino' in a factory in Jinshan's Tinglin Town.
The gamblers usually gathered inside the factory at night with all the windows covered by cloth, police said.
Officers raided the site on Saturday and nabbed the organizers and gamblers.
Three gamblers were fined 500 yuan and are subject to 15 days of detention, police said.
