Police officer wins prisoner management skill competition

LU Wenbin, a police officer at Tilanqiao Prison, won the first prisoner management skill competition in Shanghai this week.
He topped the competition by recognizing prisoners by looking at the photo of their backs, handling emergencies such as what to do when a prisoner falls sick, and other skills necessary for prison management.
Lu said they were skills he had mastered during day-to-day prison work.
“You have to know the prisoners well and pay attention to details, watch them carefully in their daily work,” said Lu.
The competition had also promoted on-duty trainings for all police officers. Local prisons and the prison hospital in Shanghai organized more than 100 trainings this year.
