Public bike service expanding in Pudong

LOCAL residents including expats will be able to enjoy public bike rental services in Pudong's Zhoupu area starting next month.
Public bikes can also be borrowed at rental centers in the Shanghai International Medical Zone and Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park, which are already in service in Pudong.
Users need to obtain a certificate from their neighborhood committee or company and deposit 200 yuan (US$32) to use the service.
The rental charge is 1 yuan per day, according to the service provider, Shanghai Forever Bicycle Co Ltd.
More than 9,000 people in Zhangjiang have got a rental card to use the service. Each bike is used three times a day on average.
