Pudong airport among 88 transport projects in 2013
THE Terminal 1 building of Shanghai Pudong International Airport will be renovated this year to expand its space and upgrade its luggage transport system.
The renovation, to be completed next year, will mainly benefit China Eastern Airlines, said the airport authorities.
Shanghai will also accelerate the development of public transport, namely bus and subway networks, to ease road congestions caused by a soaring number of cars. More public parking lots will also be built this year.
The city has earmarked 119.3 billion yuan (US$19.18 billion) for 88 public transport projects this year.
