SHANGHAI will provide high-quality financial services for the upcoming World Expo, a Chinese municipal official told Xinhua news agency in Moscow.
Fang Xinghai, director of the Financial Service Office of Shanghai, said all preparations were in place to support the financial needs of visitors and participants.
Fang, who is attending the Russian Forum 2010, said there were two main parts of the Expo's financial services.
One was to ensure convenient and swift credit card payment for ticket purchases, food and accommodation, while the other was to provide insurance for participants and items on display, he said.
The People's Insurance Co of China had reached an agreement with the Expo organizer to take charge of all insurance services for the event, Fang said.
Major efforts had also been made on transport, food and security, he said, to ensure a relaxing and enjoyable Expo.
